Bangwe All-Star has secured their spot in the POWERSTAR TOP 8 TAYALE quarterfinal following Sunday's 2 nil victory over Diesel Tech Rangers at Mpira stadium in Blantyre.

The Stars made several changes in their first eleven with some new faces making their debut.

There was nothing that separates the two sides in the first half with both teams missing the glorious chances which could have made something different.

The stars coach Mabvuto Lungu made the double substation which bearers the fruits ten minutes later.

Bongani Malaleo found himself on the edge of the penalty area after a brilliant passing football from the stars and made no mistake from a long-range shot to make1-0.

The Technicians had more possession than the stars to get the equalizer but failed to break the deadlock.

3 minutes after an hour the play for the stars was exceptional with counter-attack moves which paid them off when the D-Tech goalie fouled Jamis Tapani in the penalty area.

Tapani took the responsibility and didn't make any mistakes from the spot (2-0).

The stars enjoyed much of the possession and had numerous chances to increase their lead but were denied by the post.

 The goals were enough to secure a quarterfinal spot for the stars and are expected to face the defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets reserve.


In the earlier match, The Boys beat Mwanza Prescane 2-1 to book their place in the quarterfinals.

The Mwanza-based side took the lead just after the hour mark with a controversial goal.

Two quick goals from ANA KAMODZI put a smile on the face of the Chilomoni outfit.

With huge support from Mwanza, the supporters were frustrated with the result as the Top 8 journey comes to an end for the prescans.

With Sunday's results, The Boys will meet Zingwangwa United 

The Dates for the quarterfinals will be announced in due cost.
