The reigning champions Nyasa Big Bullets' title defense hope is still alive after edging Moyale Barracks 2-1 at Mzuzu stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Nyasa Big Bullets comes into the game from a goalless draw against Karonga United with the matter-of-fact of reducing the gap with the league leaders,  Blue Eagles.

Kalisto Pasuwa made three changes from the team that played a goalless draw against Karonga by bringing John Lanjesi,  Righteous Banda,  Henry Kabitchi for Lanjesi Nkhoma,  Nixon Nyasulu and Yamikan Fodya. Rabson Chiyenda made his fourth successive starts with Gomezgan Chirwa,  Kesten Simbi and Precious Sambani were proving him with a cover. Chimwemwe Idana, Ernest Petro and Patrick. Mwaungulu were driving in the midfield with Bavatunde upfront.

As for Moyale Barracks,  Prichard Mwansa knew that a victory was a mus,t.  He made three changes from the line up that suffered a 3-1 defeat at Chitowe. Limbani Simenti , Semion Harawaband Timothy Nyirenda were brought into the starting XI in place of Chisomo Magombo,  Jeremiah Simfukwe and Brown Magaga.  Maneno Nyoni,  Limbani Siment, Llyod Njaliwa,  Khumbo Mhone,  Victor Mwale,  Raphael Phiri,  Davie Msukwa were also among the starters.

The host,  Moyale Barracks started the game on a high notch as they were dominating the game in the first 30 minutes of the game. In the midfield,  Captain Lloyed Njaliwa,  Khumbo Mhone, Charles Nkhoma were first on the ball,  controlling the game but penetrating and creating clear cut chances was a challenge.

Nyasa Big Bullets came back into the game after 30 minutes as they started controlling the game with Chimwemwe Idana,  Ernest Petro and Patrick Mwaungulu pilling pressure on Moyale's defenders but there was a drought of goals with Nyasa Big Bullets missing a couples of chances. Both Babatunde and the full back,  Precious Sambani missed their targets the position that everyone who turned up to watch the clash at Mzuzu Stadium was in disbelief.  Nyasa Big Bullets players were not clinical enough upfront and they were lacking aggressiveness.

Former Nyasa Big Bullets defender Maneno Nyoni,  Limbani Cement were all guarding against Babatunde Adepoju at Mzuzu Stadium.

In the second half, the defending Champions,  Nyasa Big Bullets made their first permutation as Kalisto Pasuwa brought in Hassan Lajoke for Righteous Banda and they started the game on top as they were pilling pressure on Moyale Barracks' defence.

After 9 minutes from the restart,  Precious Sambani gave Nyasa Big Bullets a lead when he headed Patrick Mwaungulu's corner kick.

Chimwemwe Idana, Ernest Petro,  Hassan Lajoke, and Patrick Mwaungulu made wonderful passes which found their hit man,  Babatunde Adepoju who double the lead on 65 minutes.

Moyale scored their consolation goal from substitute Hassan Upondi 13 minutes from time.

The results means that Bullets are 2 points behind leaders Blue Eagles while Moyale remain on 13 place with 6 points.
