Mighty Wanderers have started their trip to North in style after coming from behind to beat Ekwendeni Hammers 2-1 at the Rumphi Stadium on Saturday afternoon to move back into the top four of the league's table.

Chiukepo Msowoya netted the winning goal a minute after Muhammad Sulumba cancelling out Isaac Msiska's goal to secure maximum points but saw his two first half goes ruled out by the officiating team.

The team's deputy coach, Joseph Kamwendo was happy with the team's spirit after going down and said they are happy for the win.

"A sweet win indeed but it was a tough game, Hammers gave us a good game, it is a good side but the referees wanted to destroy the game, our two clear goals were denied but we are happy to bank in three points today." Said Kamwendo.

Meanwhile, Edson Kadenge, Coach for the hosts said the team's mistakes led to the loss. He said they had a clear penalty but was turned out.

"We lost it when we lost Chawa [Gumbo], they were rough on him and Lungu so that disturbed us. We lead the game and they put in four strikers which we though we would break them through counter attack but our goalkeeper was not okay today, it is a painful loss." Said Kadenge.

The Nomads started on high after Balikinho Mwakanyongo's effort was tipped over and Nyangulu headed over in the first five minutes. The hosts then controlled the game and Blessings Singini, Richard Rabson and Wongani Lungu missed their chances.

The hosts made a forced change as Gumbo, who was injured, wad replaced by Edgar Mgangana which Brian Lungu also replacing Yesaya Nyirenda on 33rd minute. Chiukepo Msowoya found the back of the goal twice in the last five minute but were cancelled out for a foul and an offside.

Isaac Msiska and Chimwemwe Chunga came in for Tetteh on 55th minutd and Lungu with Msiska hitting the post three minutes later before scoring from Rabson's assist on 63rd minute.

Chester paved a way for Misheck Botomani on 69th minute and with several attack, Sulumba leveled on 77th minute before Msowoya sealing the win a minute later.

The win takes the Nomads up to 4th in the league with 16 points from 9 games while Hammers are 11th with 11 points.

In Balaka, Khumbo Banda cancelled Luke Chima's 73rd minute goal on 84th minute to rescue a point for Red Lions as they played a 1-1 draw with Civo United. Civo remain 9th with 12 points while Lions are 10th with the same points.

It ended goalless at the Chitowe Stadium where Mafco hosted Kamuzu Barracks and Mafco remain 8th with 12 points while KB remain third with 18 points.

In Karonga, Sheriff Shamama netted a 5 minute goal as Karonga beat Mighty Tigers 1-0 to sail out of the relegation zone. The hosts are now 12th with 10 points from 10 games while Tigers are down to 6th with 15 points from 11 games.

Games continue on Sunday as Rumphi United host Mighty Wanderers, Moyale Barracks welcome Dedza Dynamos, Sable Farming date Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets visit TN Stars.
