Gabadinho Mhango's Orlando Pirates beat Simba SC from Tanzania 4-3 on post-match penalties to book the Confederation Cup semifinal place on Sunday evening.

Pirates scored their spot through Deon Hotto, Gabadinho Mhango, Mabasa, and goalkeeper Richard Ofori whereas Dlamini missed for the Pirates with Simba missing two attempts and converting three.

Pirates had won 1-0 on the night through Kwame Peprah’s second-half effort that canceled the 1-0 lead that the visitors carried going into the match.

The hosts, after being frustrated by a goalless first half at the packed stadium, broke the deadlock in the second half.

Simba striker Mugalu received a red card for a second bookable offense.

Such a numerical disadvantage came back to haunt the Tanzanians.

Pirates’ Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah guided a perfectly weighted cross from the left-wing into the net.

The Soweto giants pushed for a winning goal but Linda Mntambo twice failed to score for Pirates when presented chances.
