Stain Davie scored an 85th-minute winner as Mighty Wanderers lost their second game in a row as they went down 2-1 to Silver Strikers in a match played at the Silver Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Muhammad Sulumba netted his first Nomads goal to cancel out Duncan Nyoni's opener as they tried to force a comeback but Miracle Gabeya once more gifted the Bankers an easy goal to have a back to back loss.

Vice coach for Mighty Wanderers, Joseph Kamwendo was disappointed with the loss saying defensive errors are costing them this season.

"We were down but we came back into the game but we gifted yet another goal the time we pushed for a winner so a third loss in 7 games sounds poor to us. We will try to sort out the problems, we will come back stronger." Said Kamwendo.

Meanwhile, his counterpart, Dan Kabwe was very happy with the win.

"It was a tough game we played a better side but happy that we have won. We are missing a lot of chances, a problem we are trying to solve, we will try to maintain this. The league is a marathon, if remain consistent and win games like this, we can win the league." Said Kabwe.

The two teams played a goalless first 45 but Nyoni put the Bankers ahead on the hour mark but the Nomads deserved to get an equalizer through Muhammad Sulumba in the 77th minute.

After an error in last week's loss against Kamuzu Barracks, Miracle Gabeya gave away another goal with five minutes to go as Stain Davie restored the lead to snatch a win.

The result takes the Bankers up to 5t with 11 points from 7 games while Wanderers are 7th with 10 points from 7 games.

In Blantyre, John Soko denied George Nyirenda from the spot as Blue Eagles beat Sable Farming 2-1 at Mpira Stadium to open a 5-point gap at the summit.

Osward Maonga opened the scores in the 35th minute but Emmanuel Lino leveled three minutes later before Schumacher Kuwali sealed a win in the 45th minute. The win takes the Eagles up to 22 points, 5 ahead of second-placed, Nyasa Big Bullets whereas Sable remains 14th with 5 points.

At Civo Stadium, Ndaona Daisi denied Civo United a win with a 90th-minute goal as Kamuzu Barracks held Civo 1-1. Mphatso Kumwembe opened the scores in 13 minutes but Daisi denied the servants a win.

Civo is 8th with 10 points from 7 games while KB remains 3rd with 14 points from 7 games as well.

Royal Bokosi netted his fourth goal of the season as Red Lions beat Rumphi United 1-0 to return to winning ways. The win takes them up to 6th with 11 points from 8 games while Rumphi is 12th with 6 points.

Games continue on Sunday as Nyasa Big Bullets host Rumphi United at the Kamuzu Stadium, Ekwendeni Hammers play Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium, and Karonga United welcome Mafco in Karonga.
