STANDARD BANK RETURNS TO FOOTBALL SPONSORSHIP.

Some years after leaving football Sponsorship in the country, on Thursday 7th April 2022 Standard Bank has announced its return to the industry but this time with UNAYO National Regional Division leagues.

The Bank has pumped in K46 million for the three regions, CRFA, SRFA, SRFA which will be K15 million per annum for one region, 64 teams are expected to participate with 700 games Estimated to be played within the eight months time frame set.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President described the gesture as timely saying it will help to unearth talent as now they can build from lower leagues in which they had challenges in getting Sponsorship.

Charity Mughogho Head of Consumer and High Net Worth Clients at Standard Bank said the deal comes as the UNAYO  platform is set to reach the 100,000 wallets milestone for financial inclusion hence the Sponsorship gives them a platform for engaging further with their clients spanning across the country as majority of whom, are passionate about and support local football.

The Unveiling Ceremony took place at Standard Bank Headquarters in City Center in the Capital, Lilongwe.
