Clement Nyondo scored his 3rd TNM Super League goal but it was not enough to stop the Mighty Tigers moving into third thanks to a 2-1 victory over Mighty Tigers at the Mpira Stadium.
Nyondo scored his goal in the 4th minute passed Mighty Tigers goalie Dalisto Khungwa after failing to judge the ball.
Despite trailing, the Tigers produced a vastly-improved performance and they were back on the level terms in the 19th minute when George Chiomba headed the ball into the back of the net from Frank Chikufenji's free-kick. A moment later Tigers were on the ball and they could have taken the lead in the first half but were unlucky.
Captain Jafali Maunde controlled the midfield and he introduced fantasy football in the dying minutes of the half there was a penalty for the appeal for the home side but the referee played play on following the inexplicable handball.
However, they failed to take advantage as Dedza's goalkeeper was the hero in the dying minutes of the first half and it substantiated a costly save as Masiya Manda and Frank Chikufenji produced a thunderbolt of strikes.
After the restart Tigers were the first to register a shot on target whereas Kondwani Chilembwe threaten Dedza's defense.
Ten minutes into the second half the game was done and dust as Kondwani Chilembwe scored the vital goal for the Kau Kau boys in the 54th minute.
90 minutes plus the added time it was all for the Mighty Tigers family, the Kau Kau boys move into the third spot the in the Super League and two points ahead of their north Blantyre rivals Mighty Wanderers and Kamuzu Barracks, who are meeting on Sunday Kamuzu stadium, (kick-off 2.30 pm).
However, the defeat is a fateful blow to Dan Zinkambani's side's hopes of keeping themselves in the top eight.
