We have reached the final stage of the 2022 FAM National Women's Championship on Sunday the 1st of May we have a meeting between DD Sunshine and Blantyre Zero. This is the inaugural final and it will be played at Civo stadium, giving DD full support and home advantage.

Blantyre Zero comes into the match on the back of a hard-fought 6-5 win on post-match penalties over Ascent Academy at home after a goalless draw on Saturday sunshine.

In Lilongwe, the black and sky blues ladies made life simple after beating Lilongwe rivals Skippers 4-0.

That result means DD Sunshine are undefeated in their last 10 matches in all competitions.

Interestingly, the most recent form for both teams indicates that they are unbeaten in this tournament.

Taking you back to the regional leagues' DD Sunshine and Blantyre Zero finished with 100% records and were crowned champions in the central and southern regions respectively.

Sunday's match will be written in the history book of Malawi's women's football as the country's two big teams collide.

Therefore, the home team has scored in all of their last 6 matches on home soil.

The red and white make the trip to Civo having failed to find the back of the net for the first time at home in their most recent fixture in FAM National Women's Championship. The game was played back on the 23rd of April and BT zero booked their spot in the final.

However, the Ascent Academy and Skippers will face each other in the third-place match before the final at Civo stadium.

Skippers and Ascent fought hard to reach this far but they went down to Blantyre Zero and DD sunshine respectively.

The time of their lives has come to lift the inaugural Fam National Women's Championship.
